Creative Arts
Ronald Compesi, interim dean of the College of Creative Arts and professor
of broadcast and electronic communication arts, was honored at the
2007 CSU Media Arts Festival, Nov. 2-4. Compesi was the festival's
faculty honoree and received the Rosebud Award for his outstanding
service to CSU students and noteworthy professional accomplishment.
Ricardo Gomes, professor and chair of design and industry,
was a moderator and presenter at the second Annual Symposium on Art and
Design in March
at the Instituto di Arte in Florence, Italy, and at the FocusOnDESIGN
Association Forum in Chicago in June. Gomes’ paper, “Vida
Brasil: Connecting Design for Living in Brazil,” was presented
at the Industrial Design Society of America’s World Congress held
in San Francisco in October.
Yuki
Goto, acting
chair of theatre arts, recently published his English translation of
a modern Japanese kyôgen play, "Hole," in
Asian Theatre Journal by University of Hawaii Press. He recently served
as a contributor to the Encyclopedia of Asian Theatre published by Green
Press.
Robert
Natata, a lecturer in design and industry, taught a concept design
course at National Taiwan University of Science and Technology in summer
2007.
Health Education
Health Education Professor Erik Peper of the Institute for Holistic Healing
Studies, gave the invited lecture "Breathing with Biofeedback to
Optimize Health Reducing Anxiety and Pain" at the XV Congress of
La Sociedad Maxicana de Psicologia, A.C. in Hermosillo, Sonora Mexico
on October 24.
