How to Apply - Metro College Success Program

The Metro College Success Program (Metro) uses targeted outreach to support first-generation, low-income and/or historically underrepresented students in their success at San Francisco State University. Each Metro is a learning community with personalized in-class academic support, advising and tutoring.

Why Metro?

Adjusting to college can be challenging. Learning in a small, supportive community of students and faculty can help you thrive throughout your first two years. Metro’s goal is to help you graduate in a timely manner and gain the skills you need to succeed in college and find a meaningful career.

Who can apply

High school seniors accepted to SF State and who are able to attend full-time are eligible to submit a Metro application. AB 540/undocumented students are encouraged to apply. Eligible students may apply to both Metro and the Educational Opportunity Program.

When to apply

The SF State Metro application opens Tuesday, February 2, 2017 for high school seniors who applied to San Francisco State University for the Fall 2017 semester. Metro applicants are accepted on a rolling basis. Admissions are ongoing and seats are available until filled.
