Introduction to mathematical thinking for students uncomfortable with arithmetic and algebra. By using applied problems, games, and logical puzzles in a non-threatening environment, general problem solving techniques are developed to replace dependency on rote memory. Some review of skills. Units and grades earned do not count towards meeting graduation requirements.
200 Computers Without Fear (1-4)
Designed to help Step-to-College students overcome fears and to develop into critical users of microcomputers. Skills in problem formulation, problem solving, and rigorous thinking are addressed. Elementary programming concepts and techniques using word processing are stressed.
