350 Sanskrit Language and Literature (3)
Study of the Sanskrit language from beginning work in phonology, morphology, syntax, and the reading of the devanagari script to more advanced reading in the Mahabharata, Upanishads, Rg Veda, and poetry by Kalidasa. May be repeated for credit. Total number of units accumulated may not exceed eighteen.

Study available for previous Sanskrit students who wish to undertake additional work in the language and literature in some specialized area of interest not offered in regularly scheduled classes. Work is planned and completed under direction of a faculty member.
