Each semester, the College of Creative Arts presents an innovative program of events and exhibitions that features the visual, media, and performing arts. Presentations include faculty and student recitals, main stage and workshop plays, dance productions, exhibitions, film and video screenings, interdisciplinary arts symposia, lectures, workshops, collaborations with professionals, and an annual festival of student films.
Student-produced radio and television programs are cablecast daily to the campus from the college's broadcasting studios. Student work in art, film, and design and industry is on exhibit throughout the year. Regularly scheduled music recitals and concerts feature outstanding artists, some of which are made possible through a grant provided by the May T. Morrison Foundation. Each June, the college is host to the Irving Klein International String Competition.
Students are encouraged not only to participate in the production of events but to attend a variety of programs as part of their educational experience. Discounts for students, senior citizens, SFSU faculty, staff, and alumni are available.
Two events calendars are available each semester from the Box Office in the Creative Arts building or by calling (415) 338-2467 and can be found at www.sfsu.edu/~allarts/.
