Fighting for frogs
A May 10 Fresno Bee article featured the work of Assistant Professor of Biology Vance Vredenburg to uncover clues about a mysterious fungus that has wiped out frogs around the globe. In the article, Vredenburg said that learning more about the fungus could help if a similar disease ever affects humans. "The thought of it makes the hair stand up on the back of my neck," Vredenburg said. "Emerging diseases for humans are cropping up much faster than before, and they might move like this one. We need to understand this."
