A merit scholarship covering full academic fees and $500.00 per year for books; renewable for eight semesters based on performance. Guaranteed residence space on campus if you apply for it. Up to $5000 for housing allowance in freshman year.

Personal attention and academic enrichment: A special welcome and advising sessions during the summer, before you register for classes. A  freshman orientation seminar introducing Scholars to university life. Classes in Critical Thinking and Oral Communication, taken with other Presidential Scholars, that count toward your general education requirements. Personalized instruction on how to use your Internet and e-mail account.

Presidential Scholar group events: Dinner with the President for you and your family or guests. Cultural events that spark your intellect and stretch your horizons, such as trips to the San Francisco Symphony or the Palace of the Legion of Honor museum. A weekend retreat at the Marin Headlands. And co-curricular activities that are just for fun.
